Steve Jobs

So Steve Jobs has made his mark--He will be in the history books. Around campus, people are crying and posting statuses saying things such as "I'm mourning." Sometimes I think we mourn more over celebrities than we do over our own family members. So my question is, WHAT WILL YOU DO TO MAKE YOUR MARK AND PUT YOUR NAME IN THE HISTORY BOOKS?

  1. I don't quite know how i will be making my mark yet. When you think about the concept of making your mark, it is always through the most conventional ways... most people don't know how they will make their mark until they decide to get out of that comfort zone and do something different. For example, Rosa Parks did not refuse to give up her seat because she felt that she would get her name in the history books, however, she stood up against the norm of society and did something different. I feel the same way about Steve Jobs. While everyone was content with PC's, he created the Macintosh. When people were comfortable with mp3 players, the iPod came out. I don't think that they knew these actions would get them to the stature they are now, however, one small action created a chain reaction and served as a catalyst to put them in the history books. Something as small as being nice and respectful to others can allow you to "make your mark" on them personally or spiritually. So when you ask the world "what will you do to make your mark and put your name in the history books?" I reply with a simple "just wait and find out..." -Kristopher Jiles

  2. Yeah...But, in my opinion he was more than just a celebrity, he was a hero in some sorts. He created a change in the technology world and it led to a lot of new developments that may even transform the way society acts altogether. My mark would actually be to give representation to the events of third world countries that are not mentioned as much through literature.
:D Glad to see you joined blogspot too :)
